The yoga that fulfills all of your desires.

Kalpadruma Yoga (Kalpavriksha Yoga / Parijata Yoga)

Kalpadruma Yoga, also known as Kalpavriksha Yoga or Parijata Yoga, is traditionally described as the yoga of the celestial wish-fulfilling tree. It is said that a person with this combination has the capacity to significantly manifest or fulfill many of their desires, depending on its strength and activation in the chart.

The wish-fulfilling tree

“He or she who has it can fulfill all of his or her desires.”

This yoga is described in Bṛhat Parāśara Horā Śāstra (Chapter 36, verses 33–34).

The structure of Kalpadruma Yoga is often compared to a tree with four progressive layers: trunk, branch, leaves, and fruit. These correspond to a chain of planetary positions:

  • (A) the Lagna lord

  • (B) the dispositor of A

  • (C) the dispositor of B

  • (D) the Navāṁśa dispositor of C

For Kalpadruma Yoga to form, these Grahas are generally required to be placed in a Kendra or Trikona from the Lagna, or to be in their own sign or exaltation.

Interpretation

Each layer of this structure represents a stage of material and experiential development:

  • (A) The trunk (Lagna lord) represents foundational vitality, intelligence, and direction of life.

  • (B) The branch (its dispositor) represents status, resources, and worldly establishment.

  • (C) The leaves (next dispositor) represent social support systems, networks, and available resources.

  • (D) The fruit (Navāṁśa dispositor) represents the outcome, fruition, and karmic result of the configuration.

Applying this to your chart

There are differing opinions on how Kalpadruma Yoga manifests in cases where Grahas repeat in the dispositor chain or where multiple co-lordship considerations are involved. Some traditions resolve this by considering the exaltation dispositor to prevent repetition loops.

Additionally, Kalpadruma Yoga is not restricted strictly to the Lagna; it may also manifest through other Kendras, indicating that fulfillment of desire may occur through home life, relationships, business, or career and duty.

Its activation is also strongly influenced by timing factors such as Daśā periods and transits, as well as personal choices and associations. These factors determine whether the potential of the yoga is fully expressed or remains latent.

Do you know someone in whose chart Kalpadruma Yoga is strongly active? Or do you see this pattern manifesting in your own chart?
